How to Make a Vegan Caramel Macchiato
Before we can go through the individual steps to creating one, we need to know what goes into a caramel macchiato and how to make it vegan-friendly.
Caramel macchiatos, both iced and the standard, warm drink, are the perfect way to start your day. Think of it as a warm caffeine-filled hug to get your day going.
Syrup
Our first ingredient makes for a flavourful base. With most macchiatos, we use vanilla syrup as our base as this makes for a sweet taste and fragrance in the final product.
We also use caramel syrup that helps us achieve the taste we are looking for.
Since this is a hot caramel macchiato recipe and not the freeze or iced variation, the syrups are added at different stages.
In the iced variation, these flavors are saved for the very end, but we are going to allow the caramel syrup to blend with the vanilla base.
Coffee
The next ingredient is a source of caffeine. As much as you can get some store-bought espresso powder, it won’t provide the rich flavors that Lifeboost has to offer.
With Lifeboost, you can get your hands on some dark roasted coffee beans or grounds. If that’s too strong, we have medium-roast coffee beans and other variations available on our store page.
Plus, these products are all vegan-friendly, sticking to the theme of our vegan caramel macchiato.
Non-Dairy Milk Substitute
Speaking of vegan, our next ingredient would be milk, but not just any milk.
Since we’re making a vegan-friendly product, we need to use some vegan-friendly milk. This can be anything from almond to rice milk, the choice is entirely up to you.
Whatever vegan milk you enjoy most and use in your other warm beverages, feel free to use it in your vegan caramel macchiato.
If using syrups or artificial flavorings isn’t for you, Lifeboost has created a caramel macchiato product that comes in both beans and ground form, allowing for a more flavourful and authentic taste.
We’ll go over how to make a vegan caramel macchiato using this product.
Now that you know what’s in a vegan caramel macchiato, let’s go over the steps to making one.
Steps to Creating a Vegan Caramel Macchiato
Step 1: Create a base using both syrups. Measure out 2 tablespoons of the vanilla syrup and 2 tablespoons of the caramel syrup and pour them into your cup.
If you want a stronger caramel taste, we recommend adding an extra tablespoon of the caramel syrup.
Once the syrups are at the bottom of your cup, stir them so that the flavors blend.
Step 2: Brew up your beans or grounds in 3 ounces of boiling water. To get that perfect balance of caffeine in your vegan caramel macchiato, use 2 ounces of your preferred choice of coffee.
Step 3: Once your espresso is ready, pour it into the syrup-filled cup and stir as you do.
This is different from making the iced or frozen caramel macchiatos as the coffee in that version is added at the end of the product.
Step 4: The final step is to take your vegan-friendly milk and slowly pour it into your cup. The combination of the milk with syrup and caffeine ingredients will make for a golden vegan caramel macchiato.
As an optional step and if you want to know how to make a caramel macchiato sweeter, drizzling some of the caramel, vanilla or even chocolate syrup will do the job.
What if we told you that there’s a faster way to create the perfect vegan caramel macchiato? Well, using Lifeboost’s products is the answer to that question.
